Programme timer

When I set the washer to use a programme (e.g No. 5 - Non-fast Coloureds)the display shows the time it will take (1hr 26mins). However, when the cycle starts, the display changes to a lower number (in this case, 42mins) and the machine then runs for this period. This presumably means that the wash is not fully completed.

Have I made an error in setting the programme, or is this likely to be a fault in the machine?

(It happens frquently, and on different programme settings).
